Division 4 - Councillor Trevor Nardi

Newsletter

Welcome to the October 2009 edition of the Division 4 Update.

Now that spring is here and the days are warmer it is a great time to get out in the garden or take that walk.  Why not try out the fitness trail in Jack Barkley Park, North Booval.

Keeping fit is vital and as well as exercise, healthy eating will keep you in better shape.

Our Division is still growing with the medium house price in Booval having the biggest rise.

I feel this is mainly attributed to the new housing estate at the far end of North Station Road, North Booval, however, it shows the strength in our area.

The Bundamba Swim Centre was to be refurbished at this time but the contract for construction has fallen over which means that these much needed improvements will be delayed until a new contract is awarded.

Inside you will find the details for my next round of Community Meetings being held during October.  If you can find the time I would love to see you at one of them.

Now is also a good time to prepare for the storm season by making sure your house gutters are clear of leaves and outside items and loose objects cannot blow around.

Until next edition, keep safe.

Ipswich City Council has responded by advising that this park provides a significant role for residents of Dinmore and has significant history with a plaque in this park recognising this as the original site of the Dinmore State Primary School.

Council has stated that further consideration would be given only after community consultation is undertaken by the Department of Main Roads.
