Ipswich City CouncilDivision 9 - Councillor Sheila Ireland
Sheila was elected as Councillor for Division 9 in March 2004. Sheila is an enthusiastic community worker and a prominent businesswoman. Her current division encompasses Raceview, Flinders View, Deebing Heights, Goolman, Eastern Heights, Swanbank (parts of), Ripley, South Ripley and Peak Crossing. Sheila has been a successful business person owning Pamela Brown's Cards and Gifts in the Ipswich Central for 15 years as well as several other retail businesses. After March 15, Division 9 will lose some of Raceview all of Goolman, Eastern Heights and Deebing Heights and gain new residents from Redbank Plains and Springfield Lakes. Sheila is a member and past secretary of The Zonta Club of West Moreton as well as many other community organisations. Sheila was born in Ipswich into the Walker family, five generations of which have lived in Ipswich, starting with Alexander Walker who began mining in Ipswich in the early 1800s. Sheila is married to Christopher and they have four adult children. The new community office is up and running and Sheila welcomes her Residents to call in.
