Ipswich City Council

Mayor - Cr Paul Pisasale

Vision

Being Mayor of Ipswich at this exciting time is both an honour and a privilege.

Ipswich is a modern city well placed both locally and nationally and is recognised for the important role our people are playing in the future of south east Queensland.

Ipswich will continue to re-write the record books as we punch above our weight to achieve results for present and future generations. In a little over four years the budget for the city has increased by 113% to a record $418 million.

In 2006 Ipswich recorded the ninth largest increase in population of all local government areas in Australia.

Ipswich has taken 150 years to reach a population of 155,000.

It is now with good planning, partnerships and a deep sense of pride and heritage, that we look forward to the challenges of the population growing to 318,000 in the next 18 years.

The history of our city is still being written as we embrace the responsibility of change with the planning and infrastructure we need to prepare the city to face the challenges of the future.

Our city is our home, a place we are all proud of, a place we need to care for.

Creating a successful community is also more than just spending dollars.

It is about building, maintaining and expanding partnerships throughout the community.

Fostering these new friendships and partnerships will be a key factor in the future success of Ipswich.

Regards,

Cr Paul Pisasale
