Ipswich City CouncilMedia ReleaseCommunity planting day at Brassall 22 October 2009 IPSWICH residents concerned about the environment are invited to do their bit with a community planting day at Haig Street Reserve, Brassall this Saturday morning, October 24. Division 6 Councillor Cheryl Bromage said residents could learn a little about the correct trees for the Ipswich environment and enjoy a free sausage sizzle as part of the community planting day. "Activities will commence at 9.30 and run through until 11.30am. "Apart from learning about what is best to plant in your back yard, Council will also supply free trees for participants to take home and plant. "So come along and join with us to plant some trees, learn about our ecosystem and share in some food." Cr Bromage said participants should be sun smart and bring along a folding chair. Members of the North Ipswich Scout Group are participating to earn some badges and will man the barbecue.
