Ipswich City CouncilMedia ReleaseGet ready for some serious doggy fun and games 28 October 2009 Ipswich City Council's Active Pets = Active Owners campaign will continue with another event in partnership with Must Love Dog Events to be held in the Collingwood Park off leash dog area on Sunday, November 8. Health and Regulation Committee Chairperson, Councillor Andrew Antoniolli said the Active Pets = Active Owner events encouraged dog owners to get active while having lots of fun with their pets. "There are plenty of fun activities in these events such as obstacles courses, best trick competitions or a chance to just stretch your legs with your best friend. "The event will be staged in the cool of the afternoon from 4:00pm until 5:00pm at Banjo Patterson Park at the corner of Lawrie Drive & Duncan Street, Collingwood Park." Division 3 Councillor Victor Attwood said the off leash dog area would provide a perfect location for an afternoon filled with interesting doggy sports activities. "We have been advised it is essential for owners and dogs to participate in order to derive the best benefits from the exercises and tests. "There will be some great doggy prizes on offer for all participants, so get down there and have some fun with your best friend," Cr Attwood said. "Bookings are not required, all you have to do is simply turn up at the off leash dog area and be ready to have some serious fun with your pooch."
