Ipswich City Council

2010 Australia Day Awards

Mayor's Message

Australia Day has become such an important and integral part of our community, celebrating the achievements of all Australians in our great nation.  The Councillors and I are so very proud in Ipswich to be able to recognise those who have contributed to our community in an exceptional way.

This year signifies the 150th anniversary of Ipswich's proclamation as a municipality.  The city has had a proud past and we eagerly await an even more exciting future.  I urge you to join in the celebrations and nominate the outstanding achievers within our community who have made such a fantastic contribution towards the development of the city we are all proud to call our "home".

Applaud our Achievers!

The Ipswich Australia Day Awards recognise Ipswich residents who are outstanding achievers in their chosen field, who are inspirational role models or through selfless hard work have contributed to the Ipswich community by enriching the lives of others.

Nominations of merit are sought from all fields of endeavour including charitable community service, sport, education, environment, arts, entertainment, science and technology and business.

Your nominee could be a friend, community leader, family member, colleague and does not have to be well known.  It's the quiet achievers we particular want to hear about.
