Clean Up Australia Day Ipswich

Let's get together on Clean up Australia Day - Sunday 4 March!

Clean Up Australia Day is an opportunity for our community to come together and join forces to make a difference in Ipswich and be part of Australia's largest community driven environmental event.

Register by 18 February to receive your Clean Up Australia Day kit. 
Remember to wear a hat, sunscreen and insect repellent.

Rubbish Collection & Removal

Most sites collect a large amount of rubbish and it is important to have the removal organised well in advance.  Ipswich City Council will provide free rubbish removal to registered Clean Up Australia Day teams operating within Ipswich boundaries.  To arrange the waste removal please contact 07 3810 7655.

How to participate in Clean Up Australia Day

  1. Select a site in your local area. It could be a park, waterway, bushland etc.
  2. Register your site with Clean Up Australia viatheir online site registrations.
    Please visit http://www.cleanupaustraliaday.org.au/ for more information. Once you register a site with Clean Up Australia you can personalise and edit your own site webpage; add photos, promote site details to family, friends and other networks as well as view volunteers who have registered online.
  3. Organise rubbish collection.
  4. Promote your clean up site to attract volunteers.
  5. Organise any additional equipment required in addition to the kit material received from clean Up Australia.
  6. Conduct a site inspection and ensure you have implemented any risk controls required.
  7. Hold your Clean Up event.
  8. Report back to Clean Up Australia on your site activities.
