Welcome to the sixth Ipswich Enviroplan Photographic Competition and Exhibition 2008.
Call for Entries - Capture the Opportunity
From the unique natural environment to the contemporary and historical built environment, the opportunities are boundless to capture this region's rich natural and built heritage.
Photographers of all ages and skill levels, from school students to professionals, are invited to take part in this challenging and exciting photographic experience. The competition is just one of the Ipswich Enviroplan's innovative and effective programs for the safe keeping of our City's natural resources.
Winning images will be on display at Ipswich Art Gallery for a three week exhibition. Winning images will also be featured in a promotional calendar produced by Ipswich City Council.

| Glossary of Terms |
| For the purposes of the Enviroplan Photographic Competition, the following definitions apply. |
| Bushland Reserve |
- any natural or near-natural area in any ICC park, reserver or sporting ground
|
| Green Space |
- any piece of land covered with vegetation.
- usually refers to parks, golf courses, sports fields, grazing land and other open land, whether publicly accessible or not.
|
| Introduced Wildlife |
- plants and animals introduced into Australia in the last 2000 years
|
| Landscape |
- a collection of natural features
- does not include single building, plant or animal
- may include people or animals as minor component
- may include "landscapes" as small as a single pond or a micro-habitat on a weathered rock
- may include a single geological feature

| Native |
- plants and animals recognised as living in Australia before European settlement
|
| Natural |
- predominantly unaltered
- where vegetation is native and largely uncleared
- where waterways are vegetated and relatively undisturbed
- may include lakes and dams provided the above 2 criteria are satisfied

Enlargements and Framing
All winning and runner-up images will be enlarged and framed for the exhibition. Famed images will be presented to all winning and runner-up entrants for each sub-category at the end of the three week exhibition.
How To Enter
Please be advised labels have not been supplied as per conditions of entry. Please write clearly on the back of photographs entered:
- the competitor number (which is found on the entry form);
- entry category; and
- where the entry was captured.

Conditions of Entry
An official entry form must be completed by each entrant.
- A maximum of three (3) images per subcategory can be submitted by any entrant. Images may only be entered once. One image cannot be entered in more than one category.
- Images entered in previous Enviroplan competitions will not be accepted
- All entries must be supplied as unmounted 10 cm x 15 cm (postcard size) prints AND on CD, saved at 300 DPI. All CD's must be marked with individual competitor numbers.
- The competitor number, entry category and where the image was captured must be printed clearly on the label supplied. Label to be attached securely to the reverse of the print.
- There is no age limit on when the image was taken.
- Images must be the original artwork of the entrant.
- All images must be captured within Ipswich City Council boundaries.
- School Students category is 18 years of age and under.
- Adult and student entries will be judged separately.
- An adult winner and runner-up, and a student winner and runner-up, will be chosen for each of the six sub-categories.
- All winners and runners-up will receive professionally framed enlargements of their winning image.
- All entries to be delivered to Ipswich City Council, Health Parks and Recreation Department, no later than 4.30pm, 5 September 2008. Late entries will not be judged.
- No responsibility will be taken for accidents or damage to persons or property while participating in this event.
- This entry form does not constitute permission to enter private property. Such permission must be obtained from the landholder.
- Members of the "Habitats of Ipswich" committee and the judging panel are not eligible to enter the competition.
- Council respects entrants' privacy. The personal information collected on this entry form will only be used for the purposes of running this competition. No further use will be made of such personal information.
- Council reserves the right to disqualify any entrant whom it believes has breached any of these conditions or engaged in any unlawful or improper misconduct calculated to jeopardize the fair and proper conduct of this competition.
- Council and sponsors reserve the right to use images in further promotional activity.
- Council's decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
