The Workshops Express

Enjoy a 70 minute heritage steam train journey in vintage carriages from Brisbane to The Workshops Rail Museum, the birthplace of rail in Queensland. Full of interactive exhibitions, the 5000sqm Australian Tourism Award winning Museum and the newest campus of the Queensland Museum is located at the oldest continually operating railway Workshops in the country. Take a Behind the Scenes Tour to see the gems of the heritage steam train fleet being restored and maintained by skilled railway workers as you step into the original Blacksmith of Steam Shop, both over 100 years old. Enjoy a roast lunch with dessert in the Trackside Café, converted from the original workers canteen and return to Brisbane by coach (bus) in the afternoon.
