Low Dynamic Range - Photographic Exhibition by Greg Harm Exhibition dates:
22 Aug - 2 Sep, 2012
Gallery hours:
Wed-Fri: 9-4
Sat & Sun: 9-2
Join us in celebrating the solo exhibition of new photographic works by Ipswich contemporary photographer, Greg Harm.
Greg is a multi-disciplinary digital artist, photographer and self proclaimed observationist; observing, contemplating, imagining. For the past six years he has worked as an assistant to Steve Parish and managing the imaging and photography workflow for a publishing company. During this time he has gained invaluable experience as an Australian natural history photographer and a deep appreci
ation of the land and its inhabitants.
His new body of work consists of abstractions of nature and urban environments with many evocative of the modernist photographers of the early 20th century. These works are photographic enigmas that encourage us to question their origin.
"...my series of Low Dynamic Range images are built on a theme, not a process. Using colour, contrast and subtlety rather that brightness, tone and sharp focus. This reflects the landscapes I see and love in the Australian natural environment, and the things I see amongst the world around us."
