Shop 4: As my heart beats faster... (experiments in instinctive reaction)
Janice Kuczkowski The artist will create a video installation, consisting of a LCD TV in the centre of the window displaying the video footage together with photographic images attached to the inside of the shopfront window. This display will portray a different dimension to the genre of portraiture by portraying new representations of the self. The artist facilitates an environment in which the face will react and then document that reaction using digital video and photography. Local ipswich residents will volunteer to wind up a "Jack in the Box" whilst the artist records the state of anticipation and the instinctive reaction of the popped 'jack'. The artist will also be attending during the festival to gain further footage. Related Information
