The Ipswich Art Gallery presents a dynamic program of exhibitions and heritage displays with complementary workshops, performances and family activities, making IAG one of the most visited regional art galleries in Australia. The City of Ipswich Collection and the heritage of Ipswich are represented in dedicated gallery spaces. Exhibitions in the Children's Gallery reflect children's interests and provide a family-friendly place for discovery and play.

The Gallery is located in the city's beautifully restored old town hall in d'Arcy Doyle Place, which is the Nicholas Street Mall between Brisbane and Limestone Streets in Ipswich Central. IAG is close to cafes and eateries, and just a short walk from the Ipswich Railway Station. Free parking is available in the Ipswich City Square car park and there is metered parking available in most side streets.

The Ipswich Art Gallery is open 10 am to 5 pm with free admission. The Gallery is fully air-conditioned and only closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day, Anzac Day and Good Friday.
