Parks and Reserves

Nerima GardensIpswich City Council provides more than 5000 hectares of open space for your enjoyment.  With more than 500 different parks and reserves there is an extensive range to suit the diverse recreational needs within our community.

Ipswich City Council is continuing to develop and embellish new parks and reserves to meet the different needs of the community as well as to upgrade existing parkland to provide modern and stylish facilities.

The Parks Search can provide you with information on Council's parks and the facilities that are available within these parks.

Facilities such as playground equipment, BBQs, natural areas, shelters and picnic areas are free for public use on a shared basis and cannot be reserved.

Other popular locations such as sporting fields, halls, chapels and some open areas have been set aside within parks specifically to cater for special activities, events and for commercial use.  Any use within these selected locations will now require a Permit.

Please refer to the Permit Information page for further details.
