Goodna Town Centre

Project Summary Goodna Town Centre

The Goodna Town Centre has been designated as one of the major activity centres under the South East Queensland Regional Plan. It is an important centre for the Ipswich area providing opportunities for residential and business development with a focus on the existing public transport and location of the centre. Undertaking the planning study for the Goodna Town Centre presents a unique opportunity to shape the future of Goodna.

Key Themes

The planning study for Goodna Town Centre is built around 4 key themes:

Theme 1 - Community and Economic Vitality
The planning study has identified a number of development opportunities which will reinvigorate the town centre and bring new retail, commercial and residential uses.

Theme 2 - A Connected Centre
A total redevelopment opportunity of the Goodna Rail Station area in coinjunction with a new bus station would make Goodna a well connected place.

Theme 3 - A Centre of Great Streets and Spaces
The study has identified locations for a number of new public spaces, including a town square in Smiths Road, which would provide an attractive environment for residents and users of the town centre.

Theme 4 - A Green Centre
Goodna's attractive green character is identified for enhancement through the plan and includes new tree lined streets and better connections between the centre and the parks which surround it.
