What is recycling?

Recycling is the process of collecting used or discarded ‘waste' materials and turning them into new products that can be used or sold.

A large volume of the rubbish that is currently ending up at landfill could have been recycled. Although many people are recycling, there is still some confusion about what can and cannot be recycled and many recyclable items end up at landfill.
