Reusing
How to REUSE...once is not enough!!!
Lots of items that we automatically throw away can be reused around the home, the office or by someone else...reusing can save you money too!!
Here are some great reuse idea:
- Start a recycled paper collection: All the used envelopes, junk mail and scrap paper that has a clean side can be made into shopping lists, telephone pads or notebooks.
- Buy refillable products: Many everyday cleaning products and detergents are available in refillable containers. This means the same bottle can be used again and again.
- Reuse plastic containers: Plastic takeaway containers make excellent resealable containers for your leftovers.
- Rip it up: Save money on buying cleaning cloths by tearing old clothes into rags and washcloths for use around the house.
- Give it to someone else: If you can't reuse something then maybe someone else can. For example, old clothes can be taken to a charity shops or a goodwill bin; newspapers, plastic containers and other junk can be taken to preschools and childcare centres for art and craft and old magazines can be given to the local doctor's surgery or hospitals.
Remember that by reusing, we are cutting down on the amount of rubbish that is ending up in landfill!! This is great news for the environment.
