Ipswich City CouncilCrime PreventionThe Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) Safety code and CPTED Adviser Pilot Project was funded to employ a consultant to liaise with community organisations and develop a performance planning and design code based on CPTED principles. As a result of a pilot project Council developed a Community Safety Design Code Guidelines and Community Safety Design Code. The outcomes of the Ipswich CPTED Project are the Ipswich CPTED Report, the Ipswich Community Safety Design Code and the Ipswich Community Safety Design Code - Guidelines. Ipswich City Council has adopted the outcomes of the Ipswich CPTED project for use as a guide for the purposes of development assessment for 'vulnerable developments' in the intervening period until the Ipswich IPA Planning Scheme is in force. It is proposed that the CPTED project outcomes will be incorporated within the new IPA Planning Scheme.
