Ipswich City Council

Seniors' Week

Seniors' Week 2009 (15 - 21 August)

Message from the Mayor and Chairperson of the Youth and Seniors Committee

Seniors' Week provides a chance for you all to celebrate together as we, the community, officially recognise Ipswich's seniors.

Ipswich is proud to be home to a large and wonderful seniors' community who are part of the foundation of our city.

You play not only important roles within your own families, but also within a large number of local community groups and we thank you for your contribution.

The theme of Seniors' Week 2009 is "Positively Ageless".  This is a great theme designed to promote positive attitudes towards older people and ageing and encourage them to lead active lifestyles.

We hope everyone will embrace the interesting array of activities on offer, which will commence with the Seniors' Week Launch at the special Roaring Twenties themed day.

A full program has been organised so enjoy!
