Ipswich Youth Advisory Council

The Ipswich Youth Advisory Council (IYAC) was established in March 2007. IYAC comprises of 25 young people aged between 12-17 who actively support the growth of the Ipswich community.

IYAC committee members:

are given a voice in Local Government decision making;
identify issues that affect young people as early as possible and provide support/advice to develop responsive strategies;
advocate for the rights of young people within the Ipswich region;
promote collaboration and strong partnerships between young people and service providers; and develop, implement and evaluate a range of youth projects/initiatives.
