The South Sea Island History and Culture Information Session

Ipswich City Council invites you to learn about the history and culture of the Australian South Sea Island Community and their contribution to Australian society.


Session 2: Addressing domestic violence within communities from the Pacific Islands

Our Guest speaker Tuifa'asisina Rodney Leleisi'uao also known as Tui, will discuss the extent of domestic violence within communities from the Pacific Islands.

He will outline the culturally and linguistically specific issues for this particular community with respect to domestic violence. In addition, Tui will provide recommendations on response and intervention, addressing the problem and prevention.

Tui has a vast amount of experience in helping families that have experienced domestic violence and has run a Domestic Violence Men's Behavioural Change Program.
