Two legendary British bands of the 60s, The Manfreds and The Spencer Davis Group, join forces to rock the Ipswich Civic Hall this month. Revered as one of the most successful British groups of all time, The Manfreds are set to delight Ipswich fans with some of their greatest hits including Do Wah Diddy Diddy, Pretty Flamingo, Mighty Quinn, Fox on the Run, My Name is Jack, Handbags And Gladbags' and Ragamuffin Man. The group helped pioneer a new pop dynamic in the 60s with fifteen Top 20 singles in the UK, including three number ones. In 1964 they became only the third British band to have a number one on the US singles charts behind The Beatles and The Animals. They disbanded in 1969 and reformed in 1991. The band includes original Manfred Mann members Paul Jones and Tom Guiness. On the same bill, The Spencer Davis Group will perform Gimme Some Lovin', Somebody Help Me, I'm a Man, Keep On Running and other hits. Spencer Davis began his music career in Birmingham with drummer Pete York and brothers Steve and Muff Winwood, and toured with the Rolling Stones and The Who. His songs continue to live on in movies such as Iron Eagle, The Big Chill, Mr Destiny, Days of Thunder, Top Gun, Mr Holland's Opus, Notting Hill and Flight of the Phoenix. Relive the golden era of classic British rock in this not-to-be-missed live concert event.
