Chairperson's Message
We look forward to welcoming music stars of the calibre of Sara Storer and Doug Parkinson, as well as the enduring tunes of the legendary Delltones. Our local performance groups are also set to shine with The Dancing Tiger, Miner Chords, Ipswich Seniors Concert Group, Ipswich Musical Theatre Company and the Ipswich Orpheus Chorale all preparing to take the stage between now and the end of the year. The city's up and coming stars will add to the excitement when St Edmund's and St Mary's present the combined college musical production of the ever-popular Grease. All this and much more is on its way to Civic Hall as we celebrate the fantastic Festival of Theatre program and all it offers to Ipswich.

[ Back to Top ] Sara Storer Makes Return Visit
At the 2004 Tamworth country music festival, Sara took home a record seven Golden Guitars for her second album Beautiful Circle. The album was a hit with fans, industry insiders and critics alike. She has since gone from strength to strength, winning more awards and a legion of fans across the country and beyond. Her fourth album Silver Skies is filled with tales of lives and loves of those on the land, but there is a much broader musical palette that shows her to be a contemporary of Missy Higgins and The Waifs as much as her country comrades. Most impressively, Sara has moved forward without leaving anything behind.

[ Back to Top ] The Delltones Celebrate 50 Years
Enjoy classic hits such as Gee, You're The Limit, Wonder, Get A Little Dirt On Your Hands, Come A Little Bit Closer and Hangin' Five. Featuring the famous voice of the one and only Peewee Wilson, The Delltones have charmed, enchanted and energised audiences since they stormed stadiums with Johnny O'Keefe in the late 50s. For five decades this legendary outfit has played, celebrated and elevated rock 'n' roll - one of the few real constants in a frantically changing world. Audiences still scream, shout and go away singing the songs, dancing the steps, chanting the goofy chants and looking forward to coming back for another dose as soon as they can.
