Festival of Theatre Banner

Chairperson's Message

Cr Charlie Pisasale The new Festival of Theatre program for July to December was revealed last night at a gala event.

A fantastic night was had by all but the highlight was by far the sneak peek of what theatre goers will be treated to during the second half of this year.

There is an extensive list of local performers plus international and national artists who will tread the boards of our esteemed Civic Centre. Welsh singer Aled Jones, American singer Toni Childs and Australian music greats Jon English, Joe Camilleri, Normie Rowe, Grace Knight, Frankie J Holden, David Campbell, Julie Anthony and Simon Gallaher will compliment the wealth of talent Ipswich boasts.

Then there are the rising country stars who have made a name for themselves at a swag of awards ceremonies and will wow fans with their talents. Telstra Horizons Award winner Amber Lawrence will headline a bill that also boasts Victoria Baillie, Luke Austen and Luke Dickens.

There will also be dramatic plays, comedies, orchestras, school and community musicals, a special session where loved ones can communicate with those who have passed on, and a number of children's shows that will keep the little ones entertained.

I am proud of this wonderful line up that has been compiled for theatre goers and encourage everyone to have a good look at what is on offer, heading straight to the box office to secure seats.

I look forward to seeing you at a show in the near future.
