Chairperson's Message
The young and young-at-heart will adore Dora the Explorer and her collection of brave friends including Boots the Monkey and her cousin Diego. The morning show at 10.30am has already received significant attention, prompting the addition of a second show at 1.30pm. If you haven’t already got your tickets, get in soon as Dora is proving very popular with Ipswich families. Country music has received a makeover in recent decades. It’s not all sad songs about losing your girl, ute, dog and everything else. The genre has a wealth of young talent who are making names for themselves on the national and international circuit such as Keith Urban and The McClymonts. I encourage everyone who loves a well-written song to ditch their preconceptions about country music and head to the Ipswich Civic Centre on July 24 when four of the country’s hottest new stars take to the stage to wow audiences. All four rising stars – Amber Lawrence, Victoria Baillie, Luke Austen and Luke Dickens – have attracted national attention: the first three with award wins, the fourth as the runner up on Australian Idol.
