Animals

Animal management is an important human health, economic, social and environmental issue. This section of the website provides information about owning and caring for a range of animals.

The Ipswich Pound & Animal Management Centre is located at 6 Hooper Street, West Ipswich and is open from 8.00 am - 5.30 pm Monday to Friday.

Contact Council on (07) 3810 6666 for all animal enquiries.

If you have an urgent after hours matter, an officer can be contacted by using the above number.

CURIOUS ABOUT CAT REGISTRATION?

PLEASE NOTE: As of 1 July 2009 registration of all cats is compulsory.  Please refer to the Cats page for more information.

Animal Permits

Depending on the number and type of animals you wish to keep in Ipswich you may require a permit.  The Animal Permit Application Kit will be able to help you decide which permit, if any, you require.
