Lost Animals

If your pet becomes lost it is important to contact Council as soon as possible.

Council has a lost found and impounded database which holds details of all dogs that have been notified to Council as being, lost, found and if they have been impounded.

However, it is recommended if your dog is lost that you visit the pound daily!

Council's Pound and Animal Management Centre is open Monday to Friday 8.00am-5.30pm.  If you have lost your dog over the weekend you can contact Council's after hours animal management officer on (07) 3810 6666.

Don't forget to call Council to remove your missing pet's details from the database if your animal has been found.

Owners of lost animals can also contact RSPCA lost and found and surrounding Councils in order to locate their pet.  Another good idea is to place advertisements in local newspapers.
