Ipswich City Council offer a range of plaques to be placed in our cemetery, columbarium wall and memorial gardens.
Memorial Plaques
Memorial plaques are available for purchase through Ipswich City Council in a variety of sizes.
Cast Bronze Plaques
Cast bronze plaque designs are infinitely variable and can be tailored to suit your needs. Priced per line allows you to personalise your inscription.
Cast Bronze plaques are placed on a standard concrete base or desk. Granite bases and desks for lawn plaques and sandstone bases for garden plaques are available for purchase from Council.
Please note: Cast bronze plaques are UV coated to protect them from the elements; however it is normal for some deterioration of brightness and fading to occur over time.

Granite headstones are available in flat (for lawn graves) or desk style (sloping - for lawn beams). An inscription can be engraved directly into the granite or a cast bronze plaque can be attached.

Ceramic Photos
Available in a range of sizes, in colour or black and white.
Please note: The process of transferring photographs to ceramic sometimes results in slight colour changes. This is considered normal for this process and results can not be guaranteed by Council. Placement of ceramic photos on lawn graves is not recommended.

Further Information
Approval from the Australian War Graves is required for a service emblem to be placed on a plaque prior to ordering. Application forms are available from Council.
Cast Bronze plaques are placed on a standard concrete base or desk. Granite bases and desks for lawn plaques and sandstone bases for garden plaques are available for purchase from Council.
Please note: Plaques larger than 380mm x 229mm will incur a small fee for a suitable concrete base.
Please contact Ipswich City Council on (07) 3810 6666 for an appointment when you are ready to arrange a plaque. Plaques take approximately 6-10 weeks (depending on size) for completion and placement. A confirmation letter will be sent to the applicant after placement.
A selection of memorial plaques, granite flat bases, granite sloping desks and vases are available for viewing at the Health, Parks and Recreation Department, 45 Roderick Street, Ipswich Qld 4305.
Office hours are from 8.00 am - 4.30 pm Monday to Friday except for all public holidays.
