Warrill Park Lawn Cemetery

Warrill Park Lawn Cemetery is primarily a lawn cemetery but also includes columbarium walls and gardens for memorial of cremated remains. This is the main Ipswich City Council cemetery. Burial Plots available in lawn, lawn beam, melaleuca forest area and nursery sections. Please note that all burials are at double depth (2.2 m) unless otherwise specified. If a single depth is specified by the burial applicant no further burials can occur in that plot; however ashes placement can occur subject to approval of the original burial applicant.

History

  • Warrill Park Lawn Cemetery was opened in 1971 and was operated by the Ipswich Cemetery Trust for a number of years before Ipswich City Council became the trustee in 1979.
  • With Warrill Park now housing over 10,000 graves, it is the biggest and most utilised cemetery in Ipswich.
  • It is a very clean and well presented lawn cemetery, with staff in attendance five days a week to ensure maintenance to a high standard.
  • Gazebos and park benches provide friends and relatives with a place to reflect and relax while visiting their loved ones at the cemetery.
