Fit and Fuelled Kids

The Fit and Fuelled Kids Program is an initiative of the Ipswich City Council that promotes nutrition and physical activity in participating Ipswich primary schools.  The program employs a number of promotional, educational and practical strategies to achieve this.  Key strategies include:

  • Facilitating breakfast clubs and physical activity sessions
  • Administering educational sessions and workshops on a variety of health topics
  • Providing professional development and capacity building opportunities for teachers in relation to physical activity, nutrition and child safety
  • Targeting the school canteen to improve nutrition
