Activities for Mums and Bubs

Physical Activity

Ih4l Mum BubBeing active with your child is beneficial for both mum and bub.
It helps mum to get back into shape and improve health and fitness, and helps bub to:

  • Learn about their bodies
  • Keep healthy
  • Keep their brain busy
  • Develop senses

For more information and tips for being active with bub, check out the Department of Local Government, Sport and Recreation's Move Baby Move booklet below

Healthy Eating

Consuming a nutritious diet is extremely important for both you and your baby.  Some tips for eating a balanced diet are:

  • Go for 2 & 5 - try to eat 2 serves of fruit and 5 serves of vegetables every day
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Choose foods low in saturated fat and salt
  • If possible, breast feed your baby until they are at least 6 months old
