Public Pools

Take the opportunity to get in the swim at one of Council's popular Swim Centres. Ipswich residents are fortunate to have several Swim Centres, that are ideal for that swim, school excursion or Learn to Swim class.

A trip to the pool is more than just a swim these days. Council Swim Centres provide a number of facilities that make a trip to the pool a full day outing. Pack a picnic or barbecue lunch with the towel and togs for a great family fun day.

When visiting our Council Swim Centres, please:

keep all dogs and other pets at home
respect other pool visitors and users
abide by the pool rules and
check with the pool for current admission fees

The four Swim Centres include:

Bundamba Swim Centre

This Centre is currently closed for Winter.

Brisbane Road, Bundamba

Operates during the summer season only, during months September to April (exact dates to be decided).

Opening Days & Hours:

Monday to Friday - 5.30am to 7.00pm
Saturday - 6.00am to 6.00pm
Sunday - 9.00am - 6.00pm
Public Holidays - 10.00am to 4.00pm
Closed Christmas Day & Good Friday

The centre features a barbecue area for sausage sizzles and a kiosk for light snacks.

A Learn to Swim Program for babies through to adults, is conducted at the centre, and swim equipment is available for hire.

The swimming clubs meet every Monday and Wednesday nights from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.

Georgie Conway Leichhardt Community Swim Centre

Toongarra Road, Leichhardt

Operates during the summer and winter season. Please contact the Swim Centre for seasonal dates.

Saturday - 6.00am to 6.00pm
Sunday - 9.00am to 6.00pm

Monday to Friday - 6.00am to 7.00pm
Saturday - 7.00am to 1.00pm

The heated pool at this centre is packed with facilities, including a children's play pool with a lazy river, mushroom fountains, spa bubbler, water cannons and beach entry, a children's play ground and barbecue area for a lunchtime sausage sizzle.

A Learn to Swim Program is conducted at the centre. The swimming club meets every Friday night (during summer season only) from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.

During the winter season the pool temperature is maintained at approximately 29 degrees.

Goodna Aquatic Centre

Brisbane Terrace, Goodna

Friday - 5.30am to 6.00pm
Saturday - 6.00am to 5.00pm

The 3 heated pools at this centre are packed with facilities including a children's play pool with a beach entry, mushroom fountains and caterpillar fountain. A 25 metre, 8 Lane lap pool and a 16 metre X 12 metre. Learn to Swim/Hydrotherapy pool. Both the 25 metre and therapy pools have wheel chair access ramps and all three pools have shade sails covering them. During the winter season the pools temperatures are maintained at 28 degrees - 25 metre pool, 32 degrees - therapy pool and toddlers pool.

A Learn to Swim Program is conducted at the centre.

Rosewood Swim Centre

This Centre is currently closed for Winter.

Railway Street, Rosewood

Operates during the summer season only, during months September to April (exact dates to be decided).
