Ipswich City Council

Bulky Item Removal Service

Ipswich City Council has partnered with BoysTown to provide a one-off service to all Ipswich residents to help in the removal of bulky household items that wouldn't ordinarily fit into a wheelie bin.

Below is a table outlining the dates that the service will be commencing in your suburb over the next three months, as well as a list of acceptable and non-acceptable items.

All residents will have the opportunity to take part in this service and it is advised that if your suburb is not listed in the upcoming schedule that you check this website regularly as the schedule will be updated quarterly.

Excessive waste loads will not be collected.  As a guide, two men should be able to load your waste within five minutes.

NOTE: It's important you do not place items for collection on your footpath until the weekend before the commencement date for your suburb listed below.

SuburbCommencement Date
Barellan Point May 14 – ends May 18
Karalee May 14 – ends May 25
Dinmore May 16 – ends May 25
Ebbw Vale May 16 – ends May 25

NOTE:  Bulky items will only be removed from footpaths "once" during the suburb schedule.  Additional items that are found to be placed on footpaths after the initial collection, WILL NOT be collected.  If you have placed items on your footpath after a collection has already occured, you will need to make alternative arrangements to have the items removed.  This is to ensure that all residents are given the opportunity to participate in the FREE collection service offered by Council, and that the collection service can continue to run on schedule for other suburbs within the Ipswich City area.
