Ipswich is the fastest growing city in Queensland and Ipswich City Council is proudly dedicated to delivering award-winning facilities and services to residents.
Beautiful Ipswich is an Ipswich City Council initiative that aims to beautify major thoroughfares and streetscapes, create attractive parks and recreational pathways and improve waterways throughout time-honoured suburbs.
Pilot suburbs, including Collingwood Park and Riverview, will be the first to experience urban greening, art and signage installations and pathway improvements as Beautiful Ipswich prepares to roll out across the city.
Parks and reserves play an important role in providing a place for the community to come together and connect with each other and their natural environment. Already maintaining over 550 parks and 8,500 hectares of open space, Council is committed to further enhancing the city’s green spaces via the Beautiful Ipswich initiative. Council's popular Parks Search facility enables parks to be easily located online by name, suburb or facilities on offer in order to help local families discover the beauty of Ipswich’s natural environment right on their doorstep.
Local community members and organisations are invited to get proactively involved – complete the Beautiful Ipswich Community Survey to have your say about what improvements you’d like to see in your suburb. And remember to take advantage of Council’s free plant and tree programs and start streetscaping the roads and nature strips in your suburb.
By joining hands and working together to beautify our surroundings, we ensure that we - and future generations - will enjoy the benefits of living, working and playing in Beautiful Ipswich for a long time to come.
