Queensland Tourism Industry Council | Tourism and Events Queensland

This award is presented annually to the Queensland organisation judged to have the best integrated focus on the provision of services to visitors to a destination.

This is the third time the Ipswich Visitor Information Centre has won the award, including wins in 2011 and 2013.

Ipswich Region Child Protection Week Awards 2014

The Do You Know The Signs Project (a partnership between Bendigo Bank Community Enterprise Foundation, Ipswich City Council's Community Development Branch, and Family Planning) were co-winners of the Educational Program or Project Category of the Ipswich Region Child Protection Week Awards.  The Project involved Child Protection Training with Staff and Parents/Carers in Child Care Centres, Kindergartens and Family Day Care

Awarded for Ipswich Heritage Seminars.

Four seminars were held to develop and/or increase the skills of individuals, groups or organisations researching and writing local histories about Ipswich. Professional historians provided valuable insight into the four primary stages of writing a local history.

Awarded for James Ivory Diary and Letters:
Transcriptions 1863-1883.

The James Ivory Diaries provide a valuable insight into life at the Bremer Mills site at Bundanbah/Bundanba (Bundamba) for the Ivory family and for the many people who worked on the property.

Awarded for Australian South Sea Islanders (ASSI) 150 Years, South East Queensland. .
A Commemorative program of events involving seven local governments authorities and as many major institutions was held between May and September 2013.
This project raised awareness of the Australian South Sea Islanders people and their descendants.

Awarded for the Ipswich Enviroplan Calendar

The Enviroplan calendar is produced as part of the annual Enviroplan Photographic Competition and Exhibition, an initiative which encourages residents to photograph the city's wildlife, waterways and natural bushland. The Ipswich Enviroplan program has enabled Council to purchase approximately 6,500 hectares of natural bushland.
