Environment Matters Autumn 2019

What you will need: ■ ■ Play dough or clay. (You may like to make your own dough – jump on the internet for some simple 2 ingredient recipes) ■ ■ Flowers, leaves, nuts or seedpods Gather some interesting looking items from your garden or outdoors. Roll out a blob of play dough then press your nature stamps (garden items) into the dough. Try rolling them across the dough to see what patterns they create. You may also like to research salt dough recipes and you can turn your works of art into ornaments. If you can, it’s best to return the garden items back to where they came from. They all play an important role in nature’s cycle and we want to make sure we can help any way we can. Crafternoon fun with nature’s stampers DID YOU KNOW? Did you know that winter in Ipswich receives the least amount of rainfall (on average) than any other season? You can become a water warrior at home, making sure your taps are free of drips and turning off the tap when brushing your teeth. You could also visit the Queens Park Environmental Education Centre and learn about the importance of water and other ways to care for this most precious resource. 15
