Stone Quarry Cemetery

Stone Quarry Cemetery is located in Ebenezer and has historical significance. Both monumental and lawn graves are permitted, but no columbarium walls exist at the cemetery.

Burials and cremations

Burial Plots are available in monumental and lawn sections. Note: All burials are at double depth (2.2m). Memorials for cremated remains are also available.

Reservations

  • A percentage of the reservation fee will be deducted from the total fee payable at the time of first burial/ashes placement
  • Burial Plot/Ashes Memorial Garden positions cannot be purchased in advance
  • If the reservation fee is not paid as above, Ipswich Cemeteries may re-allocate or use without notice.

Cemetery search

Ipswich Cemeteries staff can provide assistance with the location and details of family burials.  A fee of $25.00 for up to six names applies.

Plaques

Please contact Ipswich Cemeteries on (07) 5464 3145 or email alayne@norwoodpark.com.au for an appointment when you are ready to arrange a plaque.  Plaques take approximately 6-10 weeks (depending on size) for completion and placement.  A confirmation letter will be sent to the applicant after placement. Plaques from other suppliers can be placed, however a permit is required from Ipswich Cemeteries.

A selection of memorial plaques, granite flat bases, granite sloping desks and vases are available for viewing at the Ipswich Cemeteries, Warrill Park Lawn Cemetery, 12 Anderson Day Drive, Willowbank Qld 4306.  It is preferred that customers arrange their visit time to ensure suitable staff are available to help with their enquiry.

History

Graves at this cemetery date back to at least the 1870s. Stone Quarry Cemetery was once called the Jeebropilly General Cemetery, as identified in records from the former Moreton Shire Council in a book entitled Certificate of Right of Burial in the Jeebropilly General Cemetery.
