Tourismhas been given amassive
boost in recent yearswithmajor
events including theV8 Supercar series,
Winternationals, the Ipswich Festival
and themassive IpswichCup raceday.
This yearwill seeevenbigger visitor
numberswith theCMCRocks country
music festival relocating to Ipswich from
theHunter Valley.
CMCRocks hadoutgrown its previous
venue and takingon the festival is a
massivewin for not only local country
music fans, but the city as awhole.
CMCRocks Ipswich is on fromMarch
13 to 15 atWillowbank Raceway and is
expected to attractmore than 5000
international and interstate visitors
to Ipswich. Last year CMCRocks the
Hunter brought in anestimated $3.5
million to the local economy, and
we’rehoping to see a similar result for
Ipswich.
Asmore than 10,000patrons, artists
andevents staff travel toour city,
Ipswich’s accommodation venues,
transport, food andbeverage suppliers
and tourismoperators shouldbenefit
greatly.
Thismajor eventwill not just be aone-
off injection toour local economy, but
itwill put Ipswich in the spotlight and
share images of our city around the
world.
