GE has shown strong faith and support
for theCityof Ipswichwith their
new facility at BarryAlexander Drive,
SpringfieldCentral and staff relocated
to their newheadquarters lastmonth.
ThenewGEbuilding is located
opposite thenew Lagoon at Robelle
Domainwhich is expected tobeopen
soon, with constructionon thehome
stretch.
Thenew lagoonwill becomeoneof
thebiggest public lagoon-stylepools
inAustralia and similar in size to the
Southbank Lagoon.
Located just around the corner
fromGE andRobelleDomain is the
Universityof SouthernQueensland
SpringfieldCentral where Stage 1
constructionof the $45million state-
of-the-art flagshipbuilding is being
completed.
Thenewfive-star green-star rated
buildingwill serve as adual-hub
University and consolidateUSQ
SpringfieldCentral as theprimary
higher educationprovider for the
western corridor. Stage 2 is expected
tobe completedby June 2015.

is continuing, withworks targeted for
completion inDecember 2015.
Theexpansionwill welcome Event
Cinemas, Target andColes to the
centre, aswell as 80 additional
retailers, new landscaping and an
improvedpedestrian link toRobelle
Domain, SpringfieldCentral Train
Station andUSQ. Oneof the largest
Bunnings Stores inQueensland and
MaterHospital alsoplan toopen in
SpringfieldCentral before theendof
2015.
