the area continues to grow.

RobelleDomain at SpringfieldCentral
has become apopular attraction for
families across southeastQueensland
and theopeningof thenewRobelle
Lagoon soonwill boost Ipswich’s visitor
numbers skyhigh.
RobelleDomain features open space,
walking tracks, picnic facilities and a
zerodepthwater play area. The second
stageof RobelleDomain located in
thenewest areaof theparklandswill
feature a lagoon-stylepool similar in
size to the Southbankbeachpool in
Brisbane.
Estimated to attract 100,000 visitors
each year, the lagoonwill bemore
thanonemetre indepth and feature
a number of other play areas along a
river-like attraction.
Thenew sectionof RobelleDomain
will also featurenew lighting,
landscaping, seating, barbecues, awater
fountain, toilets and change rooms and
a kiosk.
Local sporting groups can access
the sportingoval atWoodcrest
StateCollege after hours thanks to a
Queenslandfirst arrangement between
IpswichCityCouncil, theCollege and
EducationQueensland.
IpswichCityCouncil recently installed
lights, canteen, toilets and change
rooms to accommodate sporting clubs.
Theoval is alreadyusedby Springfield
United Football Club and the local AFL
club is also looking at utilising the site
andwhilewinter sports have already
jumped at the chance touse the
fields, there remains opportunities for
summer sports.
The after-hours arrangement for local
sporting groups is beingused as a
model for EducationQueensland, who
is looking at rollingout the initiative
throughout the state.
