Free Green Waste Weekends

Upon request, eligible parties must provide Ipswich City Council (council) staff with evidence of eligibility (e.g. rates notice, driver’s license or tenancy agreement indicating a current Ipswich address). 

To redeem scheme benefit, eligible parties must only deliver green waste to a Resource Recovery Centre (RRC) during a period prescribed by council – standard fees and charges apply to green waste disposed to RRCs outside of council prescribed Free Green Waste Disposal Scheme periods. 

The scheme allows eligible parties free disposal of domestic green waste under 500kg per load through a non-commercial arrangement – waste delivered under commercial arrangement or by an eligible party as part of a commercial arrangement is not eligible for redemption of the scheme – standard commercial fees and charges apply to commercial waste disposed to an RRC regardless of eligibility status of the commercial party. 

Eligible parties must not mix or contaminate either their own green waste or existing green waste disposed to an RRC with any material other than green waste. Mixed loads will be charged as such (per Fees and Charges) regardless of the presence of green waste. 

Free 500kg load limit applies for Riverview Resource Recovery Centre – standard fees apply over 500kg. 

Free two (2) cubic metre load limit applies for Rosewood Resource Recovery Centre – standard fees apply over two (2) cubic metres.
