Sport and recreation clubs are at the heart of Ipswich’s active and connected community.

With more than 150 clubs operating across our extensive network of sport and recreation facilities, we work in partnership with the community to ensure clubs are sustainable, inclusive and well positioned for the future.

Council is committed to supporting clubs to ensure our sporting clubs are stronger and more sustainable. Councils Sport and Recreation Officers can assist with venues, resources, education, internal support and strategic planning.

Club Support and Resources (Queensland Government)
Local sporting and recreation clubs can access a wide range of practical tools, funding information and governance support through the Queensland Government’s Club Support hub. This resource includes guidance on club management, volunteer support, safety and inclusion, as well as grant opportunities to help strengthen community sport.
