In 2020, Ipswich City Council became the first council in Queensland to sign on as a Small Business Friendly Council. This commitment was reaffirmed in August 2025 when council signed on to the Small Business Friendly Program for the second time.

Mentoring for Growth

Ipswich City Council is proud to partner with the Queensland Government’s Department of Customer Services, OpenData and Small and Family Business (CDSB) to deliver Mentoring for Growth (M4G) sessions multiple times each year.

Through this partnership, local businesses gain free access to experienced volunteer mentors who provide tailored advice on challenges such as growth strategies, marketing, scaling, financial sustainability, and general business planning.

By bringing the state’s leading business support program directly to Ipswich, council helps ensure local businesses have the tools, insights, and confidence to thrive. Whether you're navigating a new opportunity or overcoming a hurdle, Mentoring for Growth offers practical guidance to help you move forward with clarity.

These sessions are offered throughout the year and are open to businesses at all stages—from start‑ups to established operators looking to expand.
