residential estates struggling to keepup
with thedemand.
Locatedonly 15minutes drive from
IpswichCBD, Ripleyhas been identified
as a keydevelopment tomeet
residential growth inQueensland’s
southeast.
TheCityof Ipswich is recognised as
oneof the largest industry growth
areas inAustralia and the residential
growth inRipleywillmore thandouble
the city’s population and absorb 10
per cent of southeastQueensland’s
predicted growth.
AMEXCorporation’s Providence and
Sekisui House’s EccoRipleywere the
first developers off themarkwith the
south Ipswich suburb set tohouse
120,000people in 50,000dwellings
when fullydeveloped.
Oneof themost recent residential
developments approvedby Ipswich
CityCouncil is anestateoffMonterea
Road thatwill include lots for
residential homes, townhouseunits
and amajor neighbourhood shopping
centre.
Thenew residential community is part
of theoverall plan for the region, with
439 residential lots, plus local roads to
bedevelopedover 16 stages.
As part of thedevelopment, landhad
been identified for a future townhouse
site, with another future stage
including amajor shopping centre to
service that community.
Plans also include a recreationpark and
landhas alsobeen allocated for a
future sports park.
Whatwas onceopenpaddocks, the
Ripley region is fast developing into
thenext big residential community for
Ipswich.
ImprovedStreetLights
forRaceview
Sonter andCross Streets inRaceview
have recentlybeenupgradedwith
additional street lighting. Thesenew
lightswill assistwith improvingnight
visibility, general illuminationof the
street andoverall safety for residents
in the area.
ANZACDayservice
Residents are invited to attend the
West IpswichOneMileANZACDay
service at 9.30amonApril 25. The
service is held at theWarMemorial in
Leichhardt ParkonOldToowoomba
Road atOneMile.More than 500
people attended the2014 service, with
numbers growingeachyear.Morning
teawill beprovided at the Leichhardt
OneMileCommunityCentre following
the service. This yearmarks the 10th
ANZACday serviceheld at thisWar
Memorial.
New footpathcomplete
Constructionof anew footpath
fromKingstonDrive toRipleyRoad
in FlindersViewhas been completed.
Thenew footpath connectswith the
nearbySir Llew Edwards Park and
completes themissing link toRipley
Road.
