Changes to council services over Christmas and New Year period

Some Ipswich City Council services will take a short break over the Christmas and New Year period, while essential services including waste collection and council’s emergency call centre will remain unchanged.
The following council services will be impacted by change of hours over the festive period.
Administration Building customer service centre
Closing: Thursday, 24 December 2020 at 1pm
Reopening: Monday, 4 January 2021
Visitor Information Centre
Closed: Christmas Day and Boxing Day
Varied operating hours: Monday, 28 December and Friday, 1 January 2021: 9am to 4pm
Ipswich Nature Centre
Closed: Christmas Day
Ipswich Art Gallery
Closing: Thursday, 24 December 2020 at 1pm
Reopening: Monday, 4 January 2021
Ipswich Civic Centre
Closing: Monday, 21 December 2020

All weekly and fortnightly wheelie bin collections will happen on their regular allocated weekday including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Ipswich City Council swimming centres
Closed: Christmas Day
Reduced hours: Christmas Eve, open until 6pm
Boxing Day, 10am to 4pm
Monday, 28 December 2020, 10am to 4pm
Thursday, 31 December 2020, open until 6pm
Friday, 1 January 2021, 10am to 4pm
Queens Park Nursery
Closed: Saturday, 26 December 2020

Queens Park Nursery does not operate on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
Ipswich City Council mobile nursery
The mobile nursery has concluded for 2020. It will resume on Saturday, 6 February 2021 at Redbank Plains.
Ipswich Pound and Animal Management Centre
Closed: Friday 25 and Monday 28 December 2020, and Friday, 1 January 2021
Council’s after-hours emergency call centre will continue to operate 24 hours a day via the usual customer service number 3810 6666.
