The latest in motorhome technology and caravaning excellence will soon be on display in Ipswich thanks to $14,000 dollars in sponsorship funding from Ipswich City Council.

The inaugural Let’s Go Ipswich Caravan and RV Expo will delight caravan and motorhome enthusiasts at Willowbank Raceway between 28 and 30 August.

Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding said council was proud to support the caravan industry and expo.

“Council will give Caravan Trade and Industries Association of Queensland (Caravaning Queensland) $4,500 in financial support to the expo in addition to completing an Event Impact Report for the event as in-kind support which is valued at $9,500,” Mayor Harding said.

“Ipswich is known for its great outdoors, its natural beauty and its adventure-loving locals so it is the perfect location for the Let’s Go Ipswich Caravan and RV Expo.

“The Expo will give residents and visitors an opportunity to check out the newest caravans, motorhomes, campervans and more.

“With a packed events calendar featuring offerings all year round and constantly expanding, Ipswich is lucrative for visitors and event organisers alike.

“More than 12,000 visitors are expected to attend the Expo, which will pump significant amounts of money into our bustling economy, and attract more visitors and events to our city in the future.”

Economic and Cultural Development Committee Deputy Chairperson Councillor Marnie Doyle said the Let’s Go Ipswich Caravan and RV Expo will be about more than just caravans.

“There will be educational presentations and hands-on demonstrations for several different products, children’s activities, cooking demonstrations, a daily motocross show and a custom-built off-road track, along with live music and other evening entertainment,” Councillor Doyle said.

“On-site camping will be available for the event, which will encourage multi-day attendance and a more immersive experience for attendees.

“Council remains committed to supporting large-scale, high-profile events like these to keep pace with Ipswich’s growing popularity as a tourism destination.”
