Ipswich City Council’s 2026-2027 Budget delivers wide-ranging upgrades across Division 3 aimed at enhancing popular community spaces, strengthening flood resilience and investing in facilities that support daily life for residents.

Division 3 Councillor Marnie Doyle said the investment reflects council’s commitment to ensuring Ipswich’s established suburbs did not fall behind while improving amenity and safety for residents.

“A major highlight is more than $8.1 million over three years for upgrades at Limestone Park, including resurfaced netball courts, new fitness equipment, a dog off-leash area and upgraded amenities,” Cr Doyle said.

“We’re also progressing with upgrades to Ipswich Nature Centre biosecurity area, refurbishments at Queens Park Bowls Club and remedial works to address the sinking floor at the Ipswich RSL Soldiers Memorial Hall.

“These are among Ipswich’s most loved community spaces, and the projects funded in this year’s budget will ensure they continue to meet the needs of residents of all ages for years to come.”

Division 3 Councillor Andrew Antoniolli said significant investments will be made in improving flood resilience.

“Almost $6 million has been allocated for a multi-year project to upgrade existing stormwater drainage infrastructure adjacent Pryde and Hume streets at Woodend and close to $200,000 is being spent to complete stabilisation works on the banks of the Bremer River,” Mr Antoniolli said.

“Ipswich Children’s Library in the Nicholas Street Precinct, which just this month celebrated its fifth birthday, will get a refresh with $70,000 set aside for improvements.

“From sporting clubs to community halls and creative spaces, this year’s budget invests in the facilities that play a central role in bringing people together.”
