Ipswich City Council has launched its 2026 Ipswich Visitor Guide, highlighting the region’s unique mix of experiences, local character and welcoming charm.

Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding said the 2026 Ipswich Visitor Guide highlights Ipswich’s incredible diversity in tourism and events.

“When visitors pick up the 2026 Ipswich Visitor Guide, they will discover that there’s something for every member of the family in Ipswich, including the dog,” Mayor Harding said.

“The 2026 Visitor Guide encourages readers to visit some of Ipswich’s best artisan creators who make or grow everything from gin and ice cream to olives and limes.

“Also included in this year’s guide are adventure activities that will set hearts racing like axe throwing, paintball, hot air ballooning and a V8 race experience.

“And to calm the nerves after that, there are options to wind back, relax and disconnect at one of the serene getaway options featured in the guide this year.

“Readers will also find some quirky food options, dog-friendly escapes and self-guided adventures through the Ipswich Trails App.

“We want visitors to Ipswich to have everything they need to plan for their trip within the guide, so it also features a business directory, helpful maps and a major events calendar.

“That events calendar is jam packed with exciting events and festivals that attract crowds from all around the country.

“These include Australia’s biggest international country music festival CMC Rocks QLD, crowd favourite event Planes, Trains and Autos, and the festival that lights up the city – SPARK Ipswich, just to name a few.

“Ipswich is rapidly growing into a top-tier tourism and events destination attracting two million visitors each year that pump $460 million to our local economy annually.

“This would not be possible without our amazing tourism operators who always make sure visitors have the best time possible in our region.”

Economic and Cultural Development Committee Chairperson Councillor Pye Augustine said council was proud to support local tourism businesses through destination marketing, visitor services, industry development, and attracting new investment and major events to the region.

“Ipswich is not only growing in size and population but also in stature when it comes to tourism and events and the 2026 Ipswich Visitor Guide highlights just that,” Cr Augustine said.

“The 2026 Ipswich Visitor Guide will be available to pick up at hotels, cafes and key visitor locations across South East Queensland, as well as visitor information centres throughout Queensland and northern New South Wales in the coming weeks.

“Residents and visitors will see the 2026 Ipswich Visitor Guide promoted across social media, and around the city with billboards.

“I want to thank our wonderful tourism operators for all that they do for Ipswich and I look forward to seeing visitors enjoy themselves in our incredible region in 2026.”
