FAQ

What is the Hub?

The Transparency and Integrity Hub (the Hub) is an online portal that gives the community greater scrutiny over how council spends ratepayers’ money. A wide range of data is regularly published to the Hub as part of improving the openness, accountability and effectiveness of council operations.

What data is available on the Hub?

More than six gigabytes of data were published for the 1 July 2020 launch of the Hub. Detailed income and expenditure data for current and past Council-controlled entities is available on the Hub. Every year, council adds more data stories for the community to explore, increasing its transparency and accountability.

Stories include:

  • Procurement data for all contracts valued $200,000 and above (ex GST)

  • The progress of measures from our Corporate Plan iFuture

  • Community Funding

  • The Annual Budget

  • Councillor-related expenses, allowance and reimbursements

Explore the data stories on the Hub for more. If you would like to suggest or request data to be published to the Hub, please contact council’s customer service.

Can I share the data I am looking at?

Yes. There is a share button at the bottom right corner of each graph that allows users to share the data.

How do I select the data I want to see?

Select the Stories tile on the homepage of the Hub to see current and archived stories. These stories provide a narrative around the data, making it easier to understand. Use the arrows at the bottom of the graphs to navigate through data.

If you have any questions, please contact council’s customer service.

How often is data updated on the Hub?

Data is regularly published to the Hub. Each story outlines how often the data is updated (monthly, quarterly or yearly).

Do I have to register to view data on the Hub?

No. You do not need to register to view or download data on the Hub.

How is data hosted on the Transparency and Integrity Hub?

The Transparency and Integrity Hub was previously hosted by the OpenGov platform, an internationally recognized open data platform. Following the conclusion of the contract and the ability for council to host its own data, council now uses PowerBI to present data.
