Ipswich City Council has partnered with the Ipswich Hospital Foundation to deliver a new physical activity program, Park Fit. Park Fit will be held every Tuesday morning, from 9.00am at Limestone Park, where a qualified personal trainer will deliver a exercise session using the free Ipswich City Council outdoor gym equipment, tailoring the session to all abilities and fitness levels. Participation requires only a gold coin donation - so come along and get fit in a fun and friendly environment!
Ipswich City Council has recently been awarded funding from the Federal Government's National Partnership Agreement on Preventative Health "The Healthy Communities Initiative". Through this funding Council will have a Healthy Communities Coordinator who will deliver the Healthy Active Ipswich Project by mid 2013. The aim of the project is to:
"To increase participation in physical activity and improve healthy eating amongst people predominantly not in the paid workforce in Ipswich"
