Council's systematic dog rego inspection program running from 7 August aims to identify unregistered dogs and update Council's animal register to assist with delivery of animal management services. more
Council's dog registration inspection program is a systematic inspection program conducted in accordance with Section 114 of the Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008.
The program runs between 7 August 2018 and 6 February 2019.
Ipswich City Council will deploy authorised officers to visit homes across all Council divisions between the hours of 8.00 am and 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday during the life of the program.
The objective of the program is to identify unregistered dogs and update Council's animal register to assist with the delivery of animal management services, as well as supporting compliance with Council's Local Laws and the Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008.
Authorised officers are required to carry an identification card and this card will be produced to residents during the program.
The Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008 requires that all dogs over the age of three months be registered within the local government in which they are kept.
