Council's systematic dog rego inspection program running from 7 February aims to identify unregistered dogs and update our animal register to assist with delivery of animal management services. more
Council's Dog Registration Inspection Program is a systematic inspection program conducted in accordance with Section 114 of the Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008.
The program runs between 7 February and 30 June 2019.
Ipswich City Council will deploy authorised officers to visit homes across all Council divisions between the hours of 8.00 am and 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday, during the life of the program.
The objective of the program is to identify unregistered dogs and update Council's animal register to assist with the delivery of animal management services, as well as supporting compliance with Council's Local Laws and the Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008.
Authorised officers are required to carry an identification card and this card will be produced to residents during the program.
The Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008 requires that all dogs over the age of three months be registered within the local government area in which they are kept.

The draft Rosewood Showgrounds Land Management Plan is now available for viewing and open for public comment until Friday, 1 March. more
Ipswich City Council has prepared a draft Land Management Plan for the Rosewood Showgrounds located at 1 Railway Street, Rosewood (Lot 2 on RP35616).
Council is proposing to seek state approval for an inconsistent use of the Rosewood Showgrounds, for the construction and operation of a Men’s Shed. The draft Rosewood Showgrounds Land Management Plan includes an already discussed proposed increase to the number of nights for the campground.
The land management plan is open for public comment until Friday, 1 March 2019.
Council would like to invite all interested parties to attend a public meeting to discuss the proposed change of land use at the Rosewood Showgrounds:
